Dance and Movement Workshops for explorers aged 3 to 12
Sessions for ages 3 to 6 run from 11:00 – 11:45, 13:00 – 13:45 and 15:30 – 16:15
Sessions for ages 7 to 12 run from 12:00 – 12:45 and 14:30 - 15:15
Workshops are for children and their grown-ups together
The children will be taken on a make-believe journey through the lost tunnels of the Tube by the guest dancers. As part of the fun all explorers, little ones and grown-ups alike, will be issued with a ticket and a high-vis jacket before joining the explorer mission. No previous exploring experience necessary!
The explorer mission involves creeping through imaginary dark and forgotten tunnels, tiptoeing through closed doors, whizzing up in lifts and digging into enclosed secret spaces. Explorers will also have to unlock secret wartime codes, problem-solve, and must always be on the lookout for lost property - you never know when you may stumble across forgotten treasures!
Other activities for families
The Museum’s All Aboard play zone is perfect for younger visitors: kids can play conductor on a real bus, repair a mini Tube train with toy spanners, and work in the ‘Lost Property’ office. Older kids will enjoy driving Tube train simulators and meeting costumed actors who bring the exhibits to life. Children with a passion for art will also love the new London by Design gallery, where an innovative audio-visual display projects a river of images on the floor which lead visitors on a journey to different showcases in the exhibition.
Children aged 17 and under go free (under 12’s must be accompanied by an adult). Tickets on the door are priced at £17.00 for adults and £14.50 for concessions.
